Kit for determination of C5 on routine biochemical analyzers. The kit includes a reagent, a calibrator and a control.
C5 deficiency is associated with increased susceptibility to recurrent severe bacterial infections and is also associated with susceptibility to autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), rheumatoid arthritis, or liver fibrosis.
Low levels of C5 and normal levels of C3 and C4 are consistent with C5 deficiency, while if decreased levels of C3 and C4 are also found, an overall decreased level is indicated.
Applications for commonly used biochemical analyzers available (Advia®, Alinity C, AU®, Atellica™, cobas® C, Optilite®, Mindray and others).
